Friends

Sending, accepting, and managing friend connections on Console Notebook.

Visit any user's public profile and click the Add Friend button. The button changes to Pending to confirm the request has been sent. The recipient receives a real-time notification and an entry in their pending requests list.
💡 You must be logged in to send friend requests. You can find users via the platform search or by clicking a username in the forum or community chat.
There are two ways to accept a pending request:
  1. Notifications panel — click the bell icon in the community sidebar. Friend requests appear there with Accept and Decline buttons.
  2. Friends page — go to Community → Friends and open the Pending tab. Each incoming request shows Accept and Decline options.
Once accepted, both users appear in each other's friends list and a real-time notification is sent to the requester.
To decline an incoming request: Click Decline in the notifications panel or in the Pending tab on the Friends page. The request is removed and the sender is not notified.

To cancel a request you sent: Visit the profile of the user you requested and click Cancel request. The pending request is withdrawn immediately.
Go to Community → Friends. In your friends list, click the Remove button next to the user you want to unfriend. The connection is removed for both sides immediately. The other user is not notified.

You can also remove a friend from their public profile page by clicking Remove Friend.
Go to Community → Friends and select the Pending tab. This shows:
  1. Incoming requests — requests others have sent to you, waiting for your response.
  2. Sent requests — requests you have sent that are still awaiting a response.
Incoming requests also appear in your notifications panel (bell icon) with a real-time badge count.
